28/1/10 heading North

Cold grey morning - met up with the lads from Kettering CC.
This time we headed up through Pipwell to Middleton. Then I met Tim & Dave coming the other way so I did a 180 & joined them for a while. Up the hill to Great Easton for a well earned drink!
We then parted & I headed east & tackled Rockingham hill for the first time.
I felt pretty weary & unfit as I went back along the main road - I need to get fitter!

9/1/10 the big F-F-F-Freeze up!

Whole of the UK frozen solid....might be off to the Gym for me (very boring)

Have signed up for the Peterborough 100 on 18/4/10, along with Tim & Andy H (from LEJOG) - hopefully Praveen will follow suit. (DooGood can't make it)

Will act as a good motivating force to get out & pound some miles once the frost has thawed....

Few dodgy moments on shady icy bits - but great to be out on the road...roll on the Spring!

13/12/09 out east with Kettering CC

Showers & cold - 9 of us met up at Sainsburys and headed east.
The five fast boys raced on ahead & Tom, Mike, Eve & I headed out past Thrapston. Then into new territory for me as we went through Titchmarsh & Clopton, skirting Oundle & back via Brigstock. The road to Grafton Underwood has some big hills but I had a second wind & shot up at good speed.

39m 2h30m at 14.5mph total now 2990m since Sep 2008!

Set off on a sunny but cold saturday moring. decided to head out into a stiff breeze southwards.
After Sywell I tracked westwards through Moulton & up to Naseby & home along the familiar route.
Hoped to get to 40 miles but just short - also wet on hommeward stretch

Have entered the 6/2/10 AUDAX - hope to meet up with DooGood (TimTomTaylor) if he's fit by then!

22/11/09 Joined kettering CC Billing/Cogenhoe & back.

Hadn't planned a cycle as forecast pretty dire
Woke 0900 to sunny am so decided to go
Met up with 'Old' Tom, Jamie, Mark, and Eddie.
Set off south into the wind via Sywell to Billing & Cogenhoe
The sky darkened & rain fell but we flew back with the wind! memories of wind assisted stretches on LEJOG.
Damp but welcome hot shower at finish - Brilliant ride - legs still strong.

33.8m 2h09m @15.7 1593ft climb

Total on Garmin 2914m - Still hope to get to 3000m (since Sep 2008) before years end.
